Careless driver caused serious injury accident

A MOTORIST has been sentenced for causing a serious injury accident with his careless driving.

Robert Long appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 21.

The 34-year-old, of The Bevers, Mortimer Common, admitted causing serious injury to Steven Fleck by a driving a Vauxhall vehicle on The Street, Mortimer, without dure care and attention on June 6.

Long, who was legally represented by Jeremy Yuille, was made subject to a 12-month community order.

In addition, he was required to complete 60 hours of unpaid community work.

Finally, Long was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £114.
