Thatcham’s Third Sector seek volunteers at recruitment fair
Local charities and voluntary sector organisations attended an event yesterday where they were exhibiting their work and seeking people to join them.
Organisations including Canine Partners, Greenham Control Tower, PALS, Project Salama, Swings & Smiles, Titans Explorer Scout Unit and Thatcham Town Radio had stalls and were telling visitors about their activities and volunteering opportunities.
Pictured above is Jake and Helen from PALS talking with Stephen West Live on Thatcham Town Radio about how PALS benefits young people with physical disabilities.
The event was the second of two events over the past week with the aim of linking voluntary organisations with people who may wish to become a volunteer and make a difference in their community.
The event was organised by Volunteer Centre West Berkshire with the support of Thatcham Town Council.
If you missed the event and would be interested in opportunities to get involved in one of the many third-sector organisations in West Berkshire, Volunteer Centre West Berkshire keeps a database of organisations wanting volunteers. It was a great opportunity for us at Canine Partners to spread the word of our charity. Thank you for speaking with me on Sunday.
Such a great event with many wonderful people & charities!
