Folks flock to Family Fun Day

People from West Berkshire flocked to Thatcham on Sunday for the Thatcham Family Fun Day.

This annual event isn’t just for families and it seemed that there was something for everyone young and old.

The weather stayed fine as crowds were entertained by outdoor performers and music from artists on the stage while visitors sat and enjoyed a welcome snack and a drink from one of the many catering outlets.

A spokesperson for Thatcham Town Council said that the Council was “delighted” how the Thatcham Family Fun day went. The Council estimated that a record 12,000+ people attended and stayed for longer than ever. The Council has never had so many people still there around and enjoying themselves at 4pm before.

Mayor of Thatcham, Councillor Suzanne Adamantos, expressed her delight at yet another successful event. Cllr Adamantos said: “Family Fun Day just gets bigger and better each year; the sun shone as we brought the whole community together with lots of activities and entertainment for everyone! The Town Council staff, Councillors & volunteers worked really hard to ensure the day went smoothly and it was  wonderful to be able to support so many thriving local businesses and charities.”
